Sam Arellano

Sam Tony Arellano, 68, of Bayard, Nebraska, died Sunday, January 29, 2023, at Chimney Rock Villa in Bayard following a lengthy illness.  Inurnment with military honors will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 26, 2023, at the Nebraska Veterans Cemetery at Alliance.  Cremation has taken place in accordance with his wishes.  Memorials may be made in care of the family.  Online condolence may be expressed by visiting www.reverencefuneralparlor.com.

Sam was born June 13, 1954, in Bridgeport, Nebraska, to Juan and Santos D. Arellano.  He graduated from Bayard High School.

Sam served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1975.  He then began a 36-year career with Burlington Northern Railroad.

Sam was a connoisseur of firearms and firearm history.  He had vast knowledge of anything, and everything related to them.  He enjoyed target shooting and was an expert marksman.

Survivors include his siblings, Andrew Arellano of Scottsbluff and Elosia Arellano of Lincoln.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, John Arellano, died on February 4, 2023.
