A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Harvest Valley Church in Scottsbluff, with Pastor Joel Hergert and Pastor Jake Roberts officiating. Friends and family are invited to attend and share memories of a well-lived life. The service will be live-streamed and recorded on Albert's obituary page viewable at www.reverencefuneralparlor.com.

Albert was born on May 5, 1931, near Morrill, Nebraska to Roland and Harriette (Robb) Edwards. He attended Liberty, Kiowa, and Lyman High School where he graduated in 1949. Albert married the love of his life, Laura M. Heinrich, on January 1, 1950. The couple shared more than 75 years of marriage filled with faith, devotion, adventure, and family. Their early years together were spent working on their farm. Albert joined the United States Marine Corps 1952 where he served in the U.S. Marine Drum and Bugle Corps. His time in the military gave him the opportunity to have many experiences throughout the world. His love of travel led to a career with United Airlines in Des Moines, Iowa, and later in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

His career path was marked by dedication, perseverance, and versatility. Albert opened a travel agency, becoming a strong advocate for air travel in Nebraska. He went on to work at Meyer’s Lease Sales and Service as a sales manager. Albert later joined the team at Lockwood Corporation, where he served in many roles including Advertising Manager, Regional Sales Manager, and Communications Director until his “retirement”. The word “retirement is used loosely, as Albert never seemed to slow down. He went on to sell cars, helped launch a recruiting agency, and happily drove a shuttle bus for local hotels. Albert enjoyed any and every opportunity to meet new people.

Albert’s life extended far beyond his work. He was a former president of the Kiwanis Club, a member of the Lyman Rifle Club, and an active leader within his faith community. Albert served as a choir director and Sunday school teacher at Scottsbluff Berean Church. He later became a member of Harvest Valley Church, where his faith continued to be central to his life.

He had a lifelong passion for sports and being outdoors. Albert excelled in baseball, basketball, and football in his youth. He played semi-professional baseball, fast pitch softball, and participated in church league volleyball and basketball well into his adulthood. Albert loved fishing, hunting, camping, and never turned down a board or card game. He remained devoted to the Nebraska Cornhuskers throughout his life as a loyal and spirited fan. Albert was an avid golf player and made his first hole-in-one at the age of 75, with a second occurring just two weeks later. He first shot his age at 82 and accomplished that feat several more times before his death.

Albert was known for his deep faith, his unwavering love for his family, and his warm, outgoing personality. He never met a stranger, always brought a positive outlook to every situation, and treated everyone with kindness and respect. He will be remembered for his love of Christ, his joy in life, his devotion to family and friends, and the countless lives he touched with his generous spirit.
