Alice Kathy Iron Bear

Alice Kathy Iron Bear, age 67, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, gained her angel wings on Friday June 23, 2023, at McKee Medical Center in Loveland, Colorado. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 30, 2023, at the Scottsbluff YMCA Trails West Camp Retreat Center in Scottsbluff with Pastor Al Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. A two-night wake service will be held beginning Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. through service time Friday morning. Alice was born in Scottsbluff on February 14, 1956, to Hazel Marshall and Lincoln Iron Bear. She attended Scottsbluff Public Schools and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Alice studied at the College of Nursing in pursuit of becoming a registered nurse. She dedicated eighteen years as a caring CNA until ill health took over.

She was a member of Body of Christ and later Chuck Wagon Church.

Alice’s hobbies included cooking as well as playing cards, Yahtzee, and her tablet games.

Survivors include, Hunka son Issac Iron Bear; sisters, Clarinda Lame (Richard) and Kimberly Iron Bear; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel and Lincoln Iron Bear; sisters, Verdeen, Kathy Kay, and Carolee; brothers, Roger, Sylvan, and Charles; and her special friend, Jose (Caballo) Lara.
