James “Allan” Green, age 55, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026, as the result of a single-vehicle accident. A celebration of Allan’s life will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, April 19, 2026 (his birthday) at Hotel 21 in Gering, Nebraska. All are welcome to join the family for a time of sharing food and memories. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for designation at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting Allan’s obituary page, viewable at www.reverencefuneralparlor.com.
Allan was born on April 19, 1970, in Scottsbluff, to Jim and Roberta (Templar) Green. He grew up surrounded by friends and stories he carried with him throughout his life. Allan graduated high school after years filled with friendships, sports, and memories he loved to retell.
Allan had a passion for sports and competition. He participated in baseball, football, wrestling, and FFA, and later became a dedicated coach for countless young athletes. He coached softball, baseball, wrestling, basketball, and racing, proudly calling himself “Coach of the Year” every single season. For many kids, Allan wasn’t just their coach-he was a mentor, a motivator, and someone who always believed they could do more.
He spent most of his career as a paint salesman, building lasting relationships with customers who appreciated not just his knowledge, but his willingness to show up and help whenever needed. His work often kept him on the road, whether through years of trucking or traveling back and forth to Denver, Colorado, for his most recent role with Preferred Auto Paint. Allan had a strong work ethic and was always willing to take on any job or project that he could lend a helping hand or earn a little extra. No task was ever too small.
Allan never met a stranger. He had a way of connecting with everyone, leaving a lasting impression wherever he went. Those who knew him best would describe him as hilarious, a bit of a know-it-all, and, at his core, a lovable man - a “teddy bear wrapped in barbed wire.”
Above all, Allan was a devoted father and grandfather. His children often joked that they would call their dad before calling 911, because he was always their first call no matter what the situation. He was their number one supporter, always showing up, cheering them on, and ready to help.
In his free time, Allan enjoyed working on cars and trucks, watching sports, and spending time at the lake fishing and swimming. He loved to travel, especially to Mexico, where he became certified in scuba diving. Whether fixing something, relaxing by the water, or spending time with family, Allan made the most of every moment. On one memorable trip, he proudly won a belly flop competition on a cruise ship, earning a plaque that his kids carried around like a trophy.
Allan is survived by his daughters, Allie and Gianni Green; his son, Blake Green; his grandchildren, Axton and Stetson Green; his sister, Jana (Steve) Mount; his nephews, Skyler (Amy) Mount, Spencer Mount and fiancée Kiersten Dickey, and Andrew Mount and fiancée Madi Schlaepfer; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members. He also leaves behind his beloved four-legged companions, Paris and Poncho.
He was preceded in death by his son, Corey Green; his parents, Jim and Roberta Green; his maternal grandparents, William and Treva Templar; his paternal grandparents, Albert and Florence Green; and many other loved family members and friends. He is now reunited with his cherished pets, Sasha, Buddy, Sugar, Molly, and Pepper.
