Amelia Loya Morales

Amelia Loya, viuda de Morales, de 88 años, de Scottsbluff, Nebraska, falleció el martes 5 de mayo de 2026, en la comodidad de su hogar acompañada por su amorosa familia. Amelia nació el 31 de mayo de 1937 en San Antonio de Loya, municipio de Cusihuiriachi, Chihuahua, México, hija de Cosme y Rita (Aguilar) Loya. Creció en La Boquilla Gran Morelos y era la mayor de siete hermanos. Se casó con el amor de su vida, Juan Morales, el 11 de mayo de 1956. Juntos, fueron bendecidos con ocho hijos.

El 4 de abril de 1966, su hijo mayor, José de la Luz, falleció. Más tarde, el 5 de junio de 1972, también falleció su marido, Juan Morales. Amelia siguió luchando y criando a sus hijos con amor y fortaleza. A pesar de todos los obstáculos que enfrentó, siempre se mantuvo dedicada a cuidar de sus padres.

Le encantaba la agricultura y cuidar de sus animales, y cada año plantaba su jardín. Entre sus aficiones favoritas estaban cuidar sus flores y hacer manualidades como tejer, punto de cruz y costura. Sin embargo, lo que más felicidad le traía era cocinar, visitar a su familia y compartir comidas con ellos. Por encima de todo, su fe en Dios fue la parte más importante de su vida. Comenzaba cada día rezando el rosario.

Su hijo menor, Santiago Morales, falleció el 24 de diciembre de 1992. Tras la pérdida de su hijo, sus hijos la llevaron a Nebraska, donde construyó su vida junto a sus hijos, nietos y bisnietos.

La precedieron en la muerte su marido, Juan Morales; sus hijos, José de la Luz y Santiago Morales; sus padres, Cosme Loya y Rita Aguilar; su hermano, Ramón Loya; y su cuñada, Manuela Jáquez.

Amelia Loya Widow of Morales, age 88, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2026, in the comfort of her home with her loving family at her side. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 11, 2026, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1102 12th Ave, Scottsbluff, with Fr. Joseph Thambi as Celebrant. Burial will follow at West Lawn Cemetery, 200491 Old Oregon Trail, Gering, Nebraska. The Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m., Sunday, May 10, 2026, at the church. Amelia was born on May 31, 1937, in San Antonio de Loya, Municipality of Cusihuiriachi, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Cosme and Rita (Aguilar) Loya. She grew up in La Boquilla Gran Morelos, and was the eldest of seven siblings. She married the love of her life, Juan Morales, on May 11, 1956. Together, they were blessed with eight children.

On April 4, 1966, her oldest son, José de la Luz, passed away. Later, on June 5, 1972, her husband, Juan Morales, also passed away. Amelia continued fighting forward and raising her children with love and strength. Despite all the obstacles she faced, she always remained devoted to caring for her parents.

She loved farming and caring for her animals, and every year she planted her garden. Among her favorite hobbies were tending to her flowers and making crafts such as knitting, cross-stitching, and sewing. However, what brought her the greatest happiness was cooking, visiting with her family, and sharing meals with them. Above all, her faith in God was the most important part of her life. She began each day by praying the rosary.

Her youngest son, Santiago Morales, passed away on December 24, 1992. After the loss of her son, her children brought her to Nebraska, where she built her life alongside her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Survivors also include her siblings, Socorro (Abram) Jáquez, Candelario (Catalina) Loya, and Josefina (Manuel) García all of Albuquerque, NM, and Gloria (Clemente) Chávez of Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Morales; her sons, José de la Luz and Santiago Morales; her parents, Cosme Loya and Rita Aguilar; her brother, Ramón Loya; and her sister-in-law, Manuela Jáquez.
