Angie Babe Escamilla

February 25, 1975 — October 7, 2025

Angie Babe Escamilla, age 50, of Gering, Nebraska, entered into Jesus' arms on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Anschutz Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado, surrounded by her loved ones after a long and courageous health battle. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, October 17, 2025, at Reverence Funeral Parlor in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Burial will follow at West Lawn Cemetery in Gering. Viewing will take place one hour before service time at the parlor. Memorials may be made in care of the family. The funeral will be livestreamed and recorded on Angie’s obituary page, viewable at www.reverencefuneralparlor.com.

Angie was born in Millington, Tennessee, on February 25, 1975, to Michael and Janet (Genz) Specht, while her dad was stationed at the local Naval base. The family moved to California and lived in the cities of Vallejo, San Diego, and Riverside while Michael was still serving in the Navy. After the untimely death of Angie’s dad, her mother moved her and her little sister, Traci, to Nebraska in 1987.

Angie welcomed her one and only son, Anthony, on July 13, 1992. She completed her education by graduating from Gering High School in 1993. Angie also married the love of her life, Elias Escamilla, on December 3rd of that same year.

The couple resided in Nebraska and Colorado during their early years of marriage, until later making Gering their permanent home. Angie's working career included experience in billing, lab clerk, and collections agencies before her health issues made her unable to work. Even through her illnesses over the years, she persevered and brought forth awareness of the conditions she had.

The highlight of her life was welcoming her pride and joy, her sole grandson, Ajay, in 2018, whom she cherished. Angie enjoyed traveling, riding on the Harley with Elias, gardening, crafting, and taking care of her beloved pets. She loved her family and friends immensely.

Survivors include her loving husband, Elias; son, Anthony (Audree); grandson, Ajay; mother, Janet; sister, Traci (Santos); and numerous family and friends.

Angie was preceded in death by her dad, Michael; maternal grandparents, AL and Florence Genz; paternal grandparents, Chris and Darlene Specht; and her beloved dogs, Rocky, Chopper, and Parker.
