Bobby "Bob" Edward Green

Bobby “Bob” Edward Green, age 67, of Gering, Nebraska, passed away at the Denver Hospice Inpatient Care Center in Denver, Colorado, on Friday, July 18, 2025. Cremation has taken place in accordance with his wishes. A private family Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025. Memorials may be made in care of Bob’s wife, Alma Green (2025 14th Street, Gering, Nebraska, 69341). Bob was born on August 16, 1957, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, to Albert and Florence (Foster) Green. He was the youngest of four children. Bob attended Scottsbluff public schools and graduated from Gering High School in 1975.

He met Alma Sue Gibbs, and the couple navigated the challenges of a year and a half long-distance relationship before tying the knot in February of 2008. Earlier this year, they joyfully celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary, marking nearly two decades of love and partnership. Bob took pleasure in labor and wasn’t afraid of getting his hands dirty. He worked for Lockwood for 18 years, Silver Energy for 2, Aulick Industries for 23, and most recently, for Scottsbluff County until his retirement.

Bob enjoyed fishing, boating, golfing, and going out shooting with his sons. Time spent with his children was always time well spent. He loved playing with his grandchildren in the pool and barbecuing for his friends and family. Bob was a jokester and someone you could always rely on for a helping hand. He worked hard and played harder.

Survivors include his wife, Alma Green; sons, Aaron (Michelle) and Matt (Tenya) Green; bonus children, Kim Cassell, Wanda Deane, and Christina Schmidt; sister, Joanne Ahlers; twelve grandchildren; three great grandchildren and two on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Florence Green; nephew, Cory Green; siblings, Jim Green and Deloris Lockman; sister-in-law, Berta Green; and brother-in-law, Lou Ahlers.
