Charles LeRoy Ruff

Charles LeRoy Ruf, age 89, of Torrington, Wyoming, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Cremation has taken place in accordance with his wishes, and a service will be held at a later date at his home in Oklahoma. Charles was born September 24, 1937, in Alliance, Nebraska, to Wesley and Margaret (Lattin) Ruf. He entered the military and served as a Staff Sergeant at Fort Hood, Texas, for 12 years.

Charles married Mary Rose Barid and became a proud father. He was a dedicated provider to his family, farming and raising cattle for many years. He also worked at the Western Sugar Factory and did truck driving.

Survivors include his daughters, Christie (Doug) Butler and Debra Menkhoff; grandchildren, Wesley Butler and Justin Butler; great grandsons, Eathen Butler and Brantley Butler; along with other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and beloved wife, Mary, in 2017.
