Christopher Charles Haun

August 8, 1971 — May 21, 2025

Christopher Charles Haun, 53, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, passed away on May 21, 2025. A funeral service celebrating Chris's life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 9, 2025, at Mitchell Berean Church in Mitchell, Nebraska, with Pastor Ben Phillips officiating. Private interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting Chris’ obituary page viewable at www.reverencefuneralparlor.com.

Chris was born August 8, 1971, in Scottsbluff to Charles "Chuck" Haun and Gale (Skaare) Haun. He attended Longfellow Elementary, Bluffs Middle School, and graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1990. As a youth, Chris was active in 4-H, raising and showing sheep, a passion he carried into FFA during high school, where he served on the 1990-91 Nebraska State Officer Team.

Chris went on to attend the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where he was a proud member of Alpha Gamma Sigma fraternity and earned his Bachelor of Science in Ag Business in 1994. Following graduation, he built a successful 25-year career with Dow AgroSciences, excelling in marketing and sales, while also pursuing his love of farming on the side for over two decades.

On November 30, 1996, Chris married Alena Bieck, and together they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family. They made their home in Columbus, Nebraska before returning to Scottsbluff in 2000, where they raised their three daughters: Ashlynn, Delaney, and Marissa. Chris shared his love of agriculture with his girls, particularly through 4-H, and gave back to the community by serving as a sheep superintendent.

A devoted Husker football fan, Chris also enjoyed a friendly poker game and could always be counted on for a warm smile, a good laugh, and a deep commitment to those he cared about.

Chris is survived by Alena; their daughters, Ashlynn (Zane) Myers, Delaney Haun (Javen Palmer), and Marissa Haun; and his cherished granddaughter, Noa Grace Palmer. He is also survived by his parents, Chuck and Gale Haun; sisters, Camilla (Dave) Bull and Natalie (Curtis) Howard; nieces and nephews, Abbott, Myla, and Judd Bull, and Oliver and Eldridge Howard; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Jake and Bernice Haun, Beverly Skaare Wilson, and Philip Skaare.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Scottsbluff Public Schools Foundation to benefit the Chris Haun Memorial FFA Scholarship Endowment, honoring Chris’s lifelong dedication to agricultural and support of FFA. Chris will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his quiet strength, and his deep love for his family.
