Cole Albert Thompson, age 28, of Gering, Nebraska, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2026, in Western Nebraska. His memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, February 19, 2026, at First Baptist Church, 3009 Ave I, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, with Pastor Charlie Bagley officiating. Memorials made in care of the family for future needs may be mailed to Reverence Funeral Parlor, attn. Cole Thompson Family, 2002 Char Avenue, Scottsbluff, NE 69361. Cole was born on March 2, 1997, in Powell, Wyoming, to Jay and Leigh (Schneider) Thompson. He attended school in both Wyoming and Nebraska.
Cole was a hardworking and dedicated family man who spent many years as a concrete finisher. Most recently, he began a new trade working as a machinist at CS Precision in Gering.
Cole met the love of his life, Amanda Ryker, and together they created a loving home, raising five amazing children.
Cole had a deep love for animals and the outdoors. He enjoyed working around the house and took special pride in maintaining his yard. He looked forward to summers floating or tanking down rivers, gathering around campfires, grilling, or simply enjoying nature and spending time with family and friends. He shared a special bond with his best friend, Justin, whose boys considered Cole their uncle.
Survivors include his soulmate and companion, Amanda Ryker of Gering, Nebraska; children, Annleigh, Ebbin, Alexxa, Axxton, and Abrielle, all of Gering; father, Jay Thompson of Gering; mother, Leigh Thompson (Alex Sauter) of Mitchell; brother, Dustin Thompson of Mitchell; paternal grandparents, Larry and Shirley Thompson of New York; maternal grandparents, Kimberly Parsons of California and Gary Schneider of Colorado; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many very close friends who will deeply miss him.
