Diana Lee Simonton, age 65, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her daughters on Thursday, September 18, 2025. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Reverence Funeral Parlor in Scottsbluff with Matthew Kautz officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Cemetery in Gering. Visitation will take place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday, September 24, 2025, also at the funeral parlor. Diana was born January 8, 1960, to Orville and Blanche (Harris) Simonton in Bolingbrook, Illinois. She later became the proud big sister to her little brother, LeRoy, and little sister, Cindy.
Most of her working life was dedicated to nursing and caring for others.
The light of her life was her four daughters and four grandchildren, not to mention all the other kids she took in along the way. She loved them as well and also yelled at them just as if they were her own.
Diana is survived by her daughters, Melinda Simonton, Rachel Simonton, Courtney Layton, and Juewl Simonton all of Scottsbluff; grandchildren, Jabe, Aden, Rhett, and Everleigh Simonton all of Scottsbluff; beloved brother who will always love Diana and miss her deeply, LeRoy Simonton of Phoenix, AZ; as well as extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Blanche Simonton; sister, Cindy Trapp; and granddaughter, Ashlynn Simonton.
