Dorothy "Dot" Gould

Dorothy “Dot” Gould, age 73, of Minatare, Nebraska, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2025, in the comfort of her home. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting Dot’s obituary page viewable at www.reverencefuneralparlor.com.

Dot was born September 13, 1952, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, to James and Carol Marie (Troxel) Graham.

She was united in marriage to Steven W. Gould on January 8, 1981. Together they welcomed three sons, Steve, Tyson, and Travis.

Dot attended the School of Practical Nursing at Nebraska Western College and later furthered her education in the School of Nursing Diploma Program at West Nebraska General Hospital. She began her 35-year tenure at Regional West working as an LPN in the Hospice and Pediatric Departments. She spent fourteen years serving as the bariatric clinic coordinator in the Surgery, Vascular Diagnostics Department. Dot also worked in several other departments over the years, including Renal Dialysis, the Addictions Treatment Center, Surgical Unit, and Endoscopy. She also earned certification in three nursing specialties: Esophageal Diagnostics, Immunization, and Nephrology. Additionally, she was a certified HIV counselor. Dot was published in the American Journal of Surgery’s December 2004 issue. She retired from Regional West Health Services on December 4, 2015. Dot’s 39-year nursing career also included positions at Western Surgical Group, Urgent Care, and Panhandle Community Health Center.

She was a member of the National Association of Bariatric Nurses and the Society of Gastroenterology.

Dot's pride and joy were always her family, her devoted husband, her sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren. She loved spending time with them and encouraged her family to live boldly and work hard. Dot left a legacy with each member of her family through fostering practical life skills, gardening, preparing dinners, adventurous camping trips with her husband and grandchildren, her passion for sewing and quilting, her love for animals, and her dedicated nursing career helping others.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Steven Gould; sons, Steven M. (Holly) Gould, Tyson (Stacy) Gould, and Travis (Charissa) Gould; eight grandchildren; along with other extended relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
