George Luis Garcia, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at his home in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Scottsbluff with Fr. Joseph Thambi as celebrant. Cremation will follow. Visitation will take place from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., with the Rosary recited at 6 p.m., on Monday, July 13, 2026, at the church. Memorials may be made in care of the family. George was born on May 11, 1953, in Xoconoxtle El Grande, Guanajuato, Mexico, to Juventino and Atilana (Morales) Garcia. In 1968, George and his family immigrated to Scottsbluff, where he built a life centered on faith, family, and a strong work ethic.

He married the love of his life, Maria Genoveva Diosdado, on August 24, 1985, and together they shared many years of marriage and cherished memories.

George enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He loved grilling, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. One of his greatest joys was sharing stories from his childhood, creating lasting memories and passing down family traditions to future generations.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Maria Genoveva Garcia; his daughters, Genoveva “Pochi” Garcia and Nancy Garcia; his son-in-law, Guillermo Reyes; and his beloved grandchildren, Saul Reyes, Gabriel “Papo” Reyes, Mozes Reyes, and Abraham Reyes. Survivors also include his siblings, Manuel (Josefina) Chavez, Belen Longoria, Natalia (Manuel) Flores, and Nico (Josefina) Garcia; along with many nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Juventino and Atilana Garcia; his brother, Juventino Garcia; three nieces; and one nephew.

George will be remembered for his love of family, his warm storytelling, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew and loved him.

Su Misa de Funeral Cristiano se celebrará a las 10:30 a.m. del martes 14 de julio de 2026 en la Iglesia Católica de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe en Scottsbluff, con el padre Joseph Thambi como celebrante.
