Jerry was born on February 6, 1961, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Gerald and Betty (Wilson) Parriott. He graduated in 1971 from SouthEast Polk High School, in Des Moines, Iowa. Jerry furthered his education receiving a bachelor’s degree from Platte Valley Bible College in 1990, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2012, and MBA in 2016 from University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Jerry loved to work. He poured himself into others, creating lifelong friendships with people from all walks of life. His professional journey took him across the United States and around the world including leadership positions with Amigos in Nebraska during the 1980s and 1990s, Al Tazaj Fakieh BBQ Chicken in Saudi Arabia and Malaysia in the early 2000s, and Applebees across Texas in the mid-2000s. He also started a small business in the late 2000s in Las Vegas. Jerry reinvented himself in 2010, returning to college and beginning a new career in 2013 as Grants Financial Officer and Business Manager with NBDC in Omaha.

Jerry remained a lifelong learner who rarely spoke of retirement, instead continuing to invest in others as a part-time Adjunct Professor at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Spending time with Jerry would mean being prepared for detailed conversations about a gadget or a tool or pen, something tied to a person, a place, a time, a relationship, or a story. Jerry never ran out of stories!

Jerry was a member of StoneBridge Christian Church, in Omaha, where he was active in a men's bible study.

Outside of work, Jerry found joy in leatherworking, challenging himself with new designs, new leathers, and new tools. He was most at peace when working with his hands. He cherished time spent with his beloved mom, Betty, and the two spent every moment together after his dad, Gerald, passed away in 2022. They enjoyed short drives and sightseeing together. Jerry loved our Lord and Savior, prayed for others, and consistently loved family deeply, through good times and bad. He is missed.

Survivors include his mother, Betty Parriott; brother, Jeffrey Parriott; nieces and nephew, Maddison (Brady) Noble and their children, Brackan and Archie, Mason (Emily) Parriott and their children, Emma and Rae, and Morgan Parriott.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Parriott; and sister, Terri Parriott.
