Gerald LeRoy Zitterkopf

Gerald Zitterkopf, 64, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, died Tuesday, January 9, 2024, in the comfort of his home with his daughters at his side. Cremation has taken place in accordance with his wishes and no services are planned at this time. Gerald was born in Grass Valley, California on August 10, 1959, to Henry and Holly Zitterkopf. He grew up in Scottsbluff where he later raised three of his own children. Gerald attended WNCC following high school and received an associate’s degree. He soon began his lifetime welding career.

Gerald was an easy-going, caring man that enjoyed football, baseball, bowling, basketball, and horseshoe tournaments. He was very creative and even participated in a rebuild of a large cannon. Gerald also had a passion for many types of music, Dierks Bentley and The Eagles were amongst his favorite artists. He loved to spoil all his granddaughters and hear about their interests and adventures.

Survivors include his children, HJ Zitterkopf of Scottsbluff, Holly Beitel of Ft. Worth, TX, and Amanda Zitterkopf of Scottsbluff; granddaughters, Kassandra and Jazmine Zitterkopf (HJ’s daughters), Addilyn and Isabelle Beitel (Holly’s daughters), and Aubrey Blair (Amanda’s daughter); along with a brother, Abe Zitterkopf.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Holly; and brother, Ron Zitterkopf.
