A lifelong Nebraska resident, Jean was born in Omaha on February 14, 1945, to Edward and Marie (Lacina) Skorupa. Jean worked for the USPS for 27 years as a rural mail carrier out of the Bayard post office. Jean and Spencer moved to Gering in 2023.
