Joyce Arlene Ring

August 10, 1938 — June 16, 2024

Joyce Ring, born on August 10, 1938, in Lyman, Nebraska to Benjiman and Dorothy (Nolke) Spath, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 16, 2024. 

For many years, Joyce dedicated herself to providing cleaning services to businesses in her community. Her passions included embroidery, crocheting, sewing, cooking, and baking.

Joyce married the love of her life, Ted Ring, on June 30, 1957. Together, they were blessed with a daughter, Sheila. Additionally, Joyce and Ted lovingly raised Michael and Marilyn Fertig for several years, extending their family with generosity and love.

Joyce cherished time spent with her family, finding particular joy in her great-grandchildren who brought immense happiness to her life. She also had a special bond with her dog, Bambi. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Sheila Dutton; granddaughters, Brandy Horstman (Justin), Becky Finley (Chris), Brittany Hyde, and Brooke Lacy (Kyle); great-grandchildren, Shaylee and Kennedy Horstman, Noah, Timothy, and Matthew Finley, Jordyn, Riley, and Haylee Hyde, and Dreyvin and Johnathan Lacy; bonus children, Michael Fertig and Marilyn Fertig Barnes; sisters, JoAnn Harrison (Jim) and Janice Tompkins; and brother, Marvin Spath.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Ring; her parents, Benjiman and Dorothy Spath; and her sister, Marilyn Sheldon.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff with Pastor Mike Erdman officiating. Memorials may be made in care of the family and will be designated at a later date. The service will be live-streamed and recorded to Joyce’s obituary page viewable at www.reverencefuneralparlor.com.
