Julia Anne West

Julia Anne West, age 64, of Gering, Nebraska, passed away at her home on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. Cremation has taken place in accordance with her wishes. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the Northfield Assembly of God Church in Gering with Dr. Kiley Callaway officiating. Memorials may be made to the H.D. Julia was born on October 10, 1960, in Mitchell, South Dakota, to Bernard and Dorothy (Jorgensen) Stauffer. She received her RN Degree from Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.

She married her lifelong partner, Darren Wayne West, on April 23, 1994. Julia’s love for nursing and healthcare was evident, as she dedicated herself to serving others for the entirety of her career. She made significant contributions as a cardiac care nurse and transplant coordinator in Dallas, Texas, where she played a vital role in the lives of many. Later in her career, she expanded her expertise by working in home health and as an IT medical specialist in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

Julia was a devoted member of the Northfield Assembly of God Church, where she actively participated in various ministries. She took great pride in her profession as a compassionate and skilled nurse, committing herself to the well-being of her patients. Julia found joy in cooking delicious meals, immersing herself in the pages of captivating books, and contributing her time and talents to her church community.

Survivors include her husband, Darren West; siblings, Linda (Randy) Gustafson, Peggy (Rick) Marker, Sherry (Tim) Oehlerking, John (Kris) Stauffer, and Kathy (Jeff) Spanski; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and a great-great nephew; and her beloved dogs, Kobe and Rose.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Dorothy Stauffer.
