Julian E. Cervantes, 68, of Hemingford, Nebraska, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at his home. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 29, 2023, at Reverence Funeral Parlor in Scottsbluff, Nebraska with Fr. Mike McDonald as celebrant. Inurnment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery near Scottsbluff. The Nebraska Army National Guard and Gering American Legion Post 36 Honor Guard will provide military funeral honors. Memorials may be made in care of the family and will be designated at a later date. The service will be live-streamed and recorded to Julian’s obituary page viewable at www.reverencefuneralparlor.com.
Julian was born August 14, 1955, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Angel and Rita (Morales) Cervantes.
His favorite hobbies included drawing cartoons and building military models which he won several ribbons for over the years. He also enjoyed spending time at the Hemingford Library.
Julian is survived by his father, Angel Cervantes; siblings, Connie (Reid), Angel Jr., Frank, and Laurie (Tim); nieces and nephews, Alicia (Matthew), Angel (Travis), Nathan, Justin (Kait); numerous great nieces and great nephews; and his loving fur-baby, Jelly the cat.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; mother, Rita Cervantes in 2019; an infant sister; many aunts and uncles; and his best friend and fur-baby, Peanut the dog.
