Ken was born on July 28, 1960, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, to Victor Kenneth Loose and Betty Jean (Sell) Loose. He attended Scottsbluff High School and graduated in 1978. He continued his education at Nebraska Western College in Sidney, Nebraska, where he studied diesel mechanics.

On December 29, 1990, Ken married Cherie Lyn Ross at Gering United Methodist Church. They shared many years together, building a life and home in the Gering area.

Ken was a talented diesel mechanic and a true jack of all trades. He enjoyed working on his home and could often be found tinkering with his lawn mower or repairing small engines. His mechanical knowledge made him a valued resource, especially at Cherie’s family farm, where he was always willing to offer advice and lend a hand with equipment repairs.

Ken had a special love for dogs, especially his own beloved dog, Lexi. He also enjoyed spending time at Cherie’s family farm, visiting with family and caring for the family dogs. Whether he was working on a project, helping with farm equipment, or spending time with the dogs, Ken found satisfaction in being useful and taking care of the things and people that mattered to him.

Ken will be remembered by his family for his practical skills, his willingness to help, and the many ways he shared his talents with those around him.

He is survived by his wife, Cherie Loose, of Gering; his father, Victor Loose, of Gering; his brothers, Mark (Robin) Loose and Brian Loose, both of Gering; his niece, Jodi Huddleston; his nephew, Michael (Amanda) Huddleston, and their children; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jean Loose.
