Larry L. Arnold, 70, of Gering, Nebraska, died Friday, April 19, 2024, at Western Nebraska Veterans’ Home in Scottsbluff. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. Cremation has taken place in accordance with his wishes. Larry was born in Phoenix, Arizona on June 6, 1953, to Gentry and Pauline (Hub) Arnold. He graduated from high school in Montana. Larry entered the US Army on March 14, 1976, and was honorably discharged on May 28, 1985.
He lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma for many years before moving to the Scottsbluff area in 2013. Larry began working at Bluffs Sanitary where he remained until his health started failing.
Larry enjoyed going to many car shows throughout the years. He proudly supported his nieces and nephews when attending their sporting events. He also liked fishing and would go whenever he had the chance. He was a member of the Gering American Legion Post 36.
Survivors include his sisters, Donna Klein of Gering and Stephanie Slusher of California; brother, Randy Arnold of Arizona; along with nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gentry and Pauline; and his grandparents.
Larry had a big heart and helped anyone in need. He was loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed.
