Luz G. Urdiales, age 85, of Morrill, Nebraska, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 21, 2025, at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Mitchell, Nebraska, with Fr. Todd Philipsen as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery near Morrill. The Nebraska Army National Guard and Gering American Legion Post 36 will provide military funeral honors. Viewing will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:30 p.m., on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the church. Luz was born February 13, 1940, in Eastland, Texas, to Manuel and Herminia (Gonzales) Urdiales. He attended school until the ninth grade, at which time he went to work full-time.

He was united in marriage to Eva Cardenas on October 22, 1960. Luz and Eva made their home in Morrill, where they raised their only child, Valerie.

Luz was drafted into the Army in 1963 and served overseas in Nuremberg, Germany, where he was employed as an artilleryman. Luz was honorably discharged in 1965 and returned to Morrill. He then began working at Girdon Agri Feeds and remained in the feed industry until his retirement.

He enjoyed watching Husker football and going dancing with Eva. Luz will be remembered most for his loving and gentle soul, and the immense pride and joy he had for his family. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Eva Urdiales; daughter, Valerie Barron; grandchildren, Nathaniel (Ashley) Urdiales and Rico Barron; two great grandchildren; brothers, Gonzalo, John G., and Henry (Ramona) Urdiales; sisters, Ortencia Gonzales, Betty (Steve Quinlin) Hernandez, and Helen (Manuel) Martinez; along with numerous extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and nine siblings.
