Lydia Teresa Halligan, age 79, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, passed away May 29, 2026, at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colorado. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the First Assembly of God Church, in Scottsbluff, with Pastor Kevin Alexander officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the church. Memorials may be made in care of the family for later designation. The service will be livestreamed and recorded on Lydia’s obituary page viewable at www.reverencefuneralparlor.com.
Lydia was born on November 26, 1946, at West Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Scottsbluff to Martin and Mary (Munoz) Lopez. She attended Minatare High School until the tenth grade.
Lydia married Thomas “Tom” E. Halligan on April 14, 1972. Together, they lovingly raised three children.
Lydia primarily devoted her life to her faith in God and to her beloved family. Over the years, she held positions working at Montgomery Ward, Midwec, Bailys Grocery, and Chef Restaurant.
She was a dedicated member of the First Assembly of God Church, where, through the years, she was actively involved as a deacon, ministry leader, and mentor. Lydia also regularly participated in Bible study. She enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, and shopping, or therapeutic spending.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Tom Halligan; children, Becky Sue, Gina, and Bradley Halligan; siblings, Helen Navarrette, Sally (Larry) Russel, Ben (Maria) Lopez, and Jenny (Rey) Enriquez; sisters-in-law, Betty Beatty and Laura Kay Halligan; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, church family members, and friends.
Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Mary Lopez; in-laws, Leonard and Millie Halligan; brothers-in-law, Lee Navarrette and Bill Halligan; sister-in-law, Carol Archie; and niece, Debra Bravo.
