Lynne Jacobsen

March 6, 1950 — October 14, 2022

Lynne Jacobsen, 72, of Belen, New Mexico passed away Friday, October 14, 2022, at her home.  A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, October 24, 2022, at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Scottsbluff with Rev. Erin Rath officiating. Cremation has taken place in accordance with Lynne’s wishes.  Memorials may be made in care of the family and will be designated at a later date.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.reverencefuneralparlor.com.

Lynne was born March 6, 1950, in Omaha, Nebraska to John and Claudine (Trotter) Mansfield. Lynne earned her Bachelor of Science in Anthropology from the University of Wyoming.

Lynne worked for many years as secretary of the St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. She finished her bachelor’s degree in 1997 and worked at the University of Wyoming as a student advisor until 2000. Lynne then moved to New Mexico where she worked as a student advisor for the computer science department for University of New Mexico. She loved working with the college students.

Lynne liked all kinds of movies and would re-watch her favorites hundreds of times.  She enjoyed cooking and baking and her family loved to sample her delicious treats.

Survivors include her daughter, Amanda (Mike) Wilson of Scottsbluff, NE; son, Dustin Jacobsen of St. Paul, MN; brothers, John (Wendy) Mansfield of Illinois and Martin (Julie) Mansfield of Indiana; niece, Samantha (Anthony) Joseph of Michigan; and three grandchildren: Zechariah, Kassidy, and Nathaniel.

Lynne was preceded in death by her father, John Mansfield; and mother, Claudine Mansfield.
