Marilyn Jane Lindsey, age 81, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, passed away Monday, January 5, 2026, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Services will be scheduled at a later date, and cremation has taken place in accordance with her wishes. Marilyn was born July 27, 1944, in New Raymer, Colorado, to Vern and Ina Long. She pursued her education at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado.
Marilyn was united in marriage to Larry J. Lindsey. The couple welcomed one son, Michael. Marilyn took great care in supporting her family and household and was later employed at Holland Bakery for eighteen years.
A passionate reader, Marilyn enjoyed reading, especially crime novels. She had a special affection for animals. Marilyn was said to be “stubborn as a mule”, but was one of the most fun-loving and generous individuals to have the pleasure of meeting.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Michael (Anna Hernandez) Lindsey; grandchildren, Devin and Addyson Pate; cousin, Kelly Vigen; as well as other extended family members and friends.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Vern and Ina; and husband, Larry in 2003.
