Morris William Jacobus Jr., age 85, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, died Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Western Nebraska Veterans’ Home in Scottsbluff. Cremation has taken place and a private family inurnment will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024, at the Alliance Veterans Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Panhandle Humane Society. Morris was born November 23, 1938, in Dover, New Jersey to Morris W. Sr. and Mary Ann (Rumick) Jacobus.
He served in the United States Navy following his education from 1955 to 1956.
He was united in marriage to Evelyn Drake, and they were later divorced. He later married Betty Jean (Milliken) Eiserman on April 11, 2001, at Lake County Court House in Tavares, Florida.
Morris retired after several years of trucking. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, muscle cars, and telling a good trucker joke. Morris also had a love for dogs.
Survivors include his children, Morris Jacobus III, David (Nancy) Jacobus, and Daphne (Thom) Brust; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jacobus; parents, Morris and Mary Ann Jacobus; daughter, Pam Jacobus; and his trusted companion, Dolly.
