Patricia Anne McLellan

Pati A. (Jinks) McLellan, 82, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, lost her battle with cancer on Monday, July 10, 2023.  A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m., Friday, July 21, 2023, at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Scottsbluff with Reverend Karen Anderson officiating. Pati was born on October 1, 1940, to Joseph and Audrey (Maxwell) Jinks in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.  She graduated from Scottsbluff High School and married Alvin McLellan in 1961.  They had two children, Shawn and Andy.  Pati and Alvin later divorced. Pati worked different jobs throughout her life and went back to school to obtain her CNA certification.  Pati worked at Northfield Villa for a number of years before retiring.

Pati was a member of St. Francis Episcopal Church where she was very involved. She was in various Bible study groups and served on many committees in the church. She was a Eucharistic Minister and a very good reader who was always prepared.  Pati loved her church and the people within the church as well.

She could be a very stubborn person but had a kind heart.  She would help people without question if it was in her power, however, it was very hard for her to accept help from others.  Pati had a great sense of humor and liked joking around.  Reading books was something Pati always had time for, and she also enjoyed board games and card games.  Another one of her favorite things to do was cooking and she collected tons of cookbooks over the years. Pati was known for many yummy dishes, but her deviled eggs were the best.  She will be greatly missed.

Pati is survived by her daughter, Shawn Garcia; grandchildren, Josh (Megan) Garcia, Nicole (Andrew) Garcia, Zach (Ana) McLellan, and Michelle McLellan; great-grandchildren, Maddie, Alivia and Jase, Dionte, Lamontre and Patrick, Aria, Addison, and Aiden, and Kadance, Khloe and Kingston; daughter -in -law, Teresa McLellan; nieces and nephews, Matt (Janina) Schmidt, Mick Schmidt, Christy Shirley, Kay Schmidt, Shane (Cindy) Sparks, Kathy Sparks, Casey (Hannah) Sparks, and Shannon (Paul) Sheridan; great nieces and nephews, Marie (Tim) Besgrove, Phillip (Shelby) Schmidt and their child, Cameron, Jessica (Chris) Soler and their children, Eleanor and Theo, Katie (Torey) Armstrong and their child, Ryatt, Sierra (Adam) Ostdiek and their children, Sophie and Emma, Mattea Schmidt, Kaycee Schmidt, Patrick (Amy) Sparks, Jessica (Justin) Johnson and their children, Hattie and Miles, Shawn (Trinity) Sparks and Tara Sparks, Makayla Sheridan, John McHatton, and Melissa and Amanda Sheridan; along with other extended family members and friends.

Pati was preceded in death by her parents; son, Andy McLellan; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn and Melvin Schmidt and Jody and Bud Sparks; and a dear friend, Susan Selvey.
