Patricia married Gary Meier on March 10, 1968, and to this union two children were born, Renay and Bruce. The couple later divorced.

Professional housekeeping was how she chose to support herself and her family through the years. She also held many babysitting jobs for additional income.

She was a member of the Chuck Wagon Church in Scottsbluff. Patricia became very involved in prayer meetings and bible study groups there during her retirement years. She enjoyed volunteering a lot of her time, however needed, in the church’s activities.

Survivors include her children, Renay A. Smith and Bruce (Tina) Meier; grandchildren, Joseph Meier-Lehl, Hailey (fiancé, Lawrence) Smith, Alyssa (Chase) Frazier, and Bryce (Brittany) Meier; four great-grandchildren; as well as other extended family members.

Patricia was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Selma Mitchell and Ella and Vernon Stull; father, Kenneth Mitchell; mother, Irene Bernhardt; step-father, Daniel Bernhardt; brothers, Ron Mitchell and Rick Bernhardt; sister, Connie Wickert; along with aunts and uncles.
