Patrick was born on October 11, 1964, in Scottsbluff, the seventh of eight children to Martin Torres and Juanita (Hernandez) Muñoz. He grew up on the farm, working with his dad, caring for his younger brother, Nico, and playing with his siblings. Patrick participated in youth baseball and Boy Scouts. He graduated from high school and went on to obtain an associate's degree in Human Services from Western Nebraska Community College.

Patrick was united in marriage to Michelle Diane Ault. Together, they welcomed three children and later joyfully raised their grandson, Diego, for most of his younger life. He would occasionally step up as a substitute child care provider for Michelle’s ABC-123 Daycare, and volunteered as a youth softball, baseball, and YMCA flag football coach.

He had a fulfilling 34-year career as a social worker and then the building service manager at the Western Nebraska Veterans’ home, where he achieved “Employee of the Year” and also “Manager of the Year” during his employment. Patrick was a patriot through and through and held a very high regard and respect for veterans and their sacrifices. He faithfully showed his support to local veterans during his time working with them at the veterans’ home, as well as to his own family members who served in the military.

Patrick was an awesome and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, son, friend, mentor, and coach. He was a family-oriented, caring, dedicated, loyal, and genuine man, who was very down to Earth. Other well-known qualities of his included his hard work ethic and supportiveness to those dear to him. He also had an ornery and mischievous side that was revealed at the most perfect times.

Patrick liked smoking and grilling a variety of meats, and making and selling fresh, homemade salsa. One of his favorite hobbies was watching old Westerns, war movies, Pinky Blinders, the Yellowstone series, and many more. He had a passion for singing, and in his younger years, he performed alongside his sister, Juanita, for weddings and funerals. Patrick was a big, lifelong Husker fan and also enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys. A man of many abilities, he also tinkered with woodworking for a short time and did an amazing job tending to his yard, a skill passed down to him by his grandfather, Lorenzo. Patrick was always up for shooting his guns at the range, golfing, fishing, and playing cards or board games with family and friends. His heart was larger than life, and nothing made him happier than sharing his love with his grandchildren, whether in person or through FaceTime calls.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Michelle Muñoz of Scottsbluff, who affectionately called him her “miracle man” for all the many health problems Patrick endured through the years and conquered. He is also survived by sons, Adam and Gabriel Muñoz of Scottsbluff; daughter, Katie Lynn (Que Massey) Muñoz-Massey of San Diego, CA; three grandchildren, Diego Muñoz and Dominic and Briana Muñoz-Massey all of San Diego, CA; brothers and sisters and their spouses, Martin (Cinda) Muñoz, Sylvia Muñoz, Mary Lundstrom Muñoz, Juanita “Becky” (Patrick) DeCluette, and Amanda Muñoz; Muñoz nephews and nieces, Salvadore, Sophia, Quintan, Mariha, Ozzy, Mauricio, Amanda, Victoria, Richard, Ariana, Taylor, Symone (Matt Sabala), Juniel, and Tiffany; along with multiple great nephews and great nieces; honorary adopted son, Russell Burns; and many other cousins and extended family members. Patrick’s family grew exponentially when he became part of the Ault family and gained brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law plus their families, Brad (Lori) Ault, Terry (Ginger) Ault, John Ault, Sharol (Greg) Moeller, Patty Ault, Betsy Rasmussen, Monica (Edward) Topps, Kathy (Michael) Mullane, and Vincent Ault; along with numerous beloved nephews and nieces and great nephews and great nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Christopher, Richard, and Nico Muñoz, and Alice Castillo.
