Richard "Dick" England

April 4, 1933 — July 3, 2024

Richard “Dick” Neil England, age 91, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, and formerly of Powell Butte, Oregon, passed away peacefully at Monument Rehabilitation and Care Center on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. Cremation has taken place, and a service will be held at a later determined date. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting Dick’s obituary page viewable at www.reverencefuneralparlor.com.

Dick was widely known for his love of registered Horned Herefords and Black Angus cattle. He was born April 4, 1933, on a family ranch in Denby, South Dakota to Stewart Grayson and Dora Delia (Lovell) England. In 1951, he bought his first horned Hereford, which is when his dream and business became a reality.

He married the love of his life, Mary Margaret Neumann, in 1959, and to this union two daughters and two sons were born, Cynthia and Margaret and James and Jon.

The family farmed and ranched in Morrill, Nebraska until they moved to Granby, Colorado where Dick helped develop a Registered Hereford herd for the Bill and Barbara Lawson family. While in Colorado, Dick started and built a successful concrete construction company, which he eventually moved to Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Dick served on the Scotts Bluff County Extension Board from 1977 to 1981 and was the Vice President his last year. He moved to Prineville, Oregon in 1983 because of the beautiful ranch country. Over a 35-year spread, the England Ranch had Champions at every major livestock show they attended.

Dick loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and was proud of all their accomplishments.

He is survived by daughter, Cynthia “Cyndi” Marie Wojciechowski (Steve) of Gering, Nebraska; grandson, Nathan Wojciechowski of Holdrege, Nebraska; daughter, Margaret “Margie” Ann Davidson (Hardin Stull) of Morrill, Nebraska; only granddaughter, Taylor Blomenkamp (Spencer) of Gering, Nebraska; great-grandchildren, Dayton and Raelyn Blomenkamp of Gering, Nebraska; son, James “Jim” Bryan England (Jill) of Powell Butte, Oregon; grandsons, Jace, Justin and Jadd England of Powell Butte, Oregon; son, Jon Neil England (Tara) of Powell Butte, Oregon; grandsons, Tarrin and Tucker Dodge of Powell Butte, Oregon; sister, Shirley Halstead; sisters-in-law, Barbara England, Kathy England, and Teresa Rose; along with many nieces and nephews.

Dick was preceded in death by parents, Stewart and Dora England; wife, Mary England; sisters, Donna Waters and Lois Anderson; niece, Karen Anderson-Lowry; brothers, Ronald, Harry, and Bobby England; brother-in-law, Asa Halstead; and nephew, Greg Halstead.
