Rodney “RJ” True Graves Jr., age 43, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, passed away at his home surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, October 3, 2026. He passed after a short illness, but as we see it, he was just tired of the world's shit. Cremation has taken place in accordance with his wishes, and a Celebration of Life will be scheduled and announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in care of his wife, Marinda Graves, for final expenses. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting RJ’s obituary page, viewable at www.reverencefuneralparlor.com.
RJ was born on July 12, 1983, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, to Rodney True Sr. and Tamara Kay (Mackrill) Graves. He was raised in Scottsbluff and graduated from Nebraska State High School in 2002.
RJ worked in magazine distribution, home manufacturing, and asphalt production after graduation before finding a position at Floyd's Truck Center in 2008. He was exceptionally skilled and talented in truck repair and worked his way up to becoming a top tier diesel mechanic during his career. He married the love of his life, Marinda Kay Frith, on February 21, 2004.
He enjoyed racing, motorcycles, and having good times. RJ was highly involved in the UMF motorcycle group and was given the nickname "Waldo”. He raced for several years in the Scottsbluff area and was vintage class champion in 2018. RJ was the life of the party, and no gathering or get-together will ever be the same without him. He loved spending time with his family whenever possible, and his absence will be deeply felt. RJ was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend whose sharp sense of humor and wit will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Marinda Graves; beloved dog, Cochina; parents, Rodney and Tammy Graves; brother, Nate (Kimberly) Graves; children, Colby (Vanessa), Rodney III (Katelyn), and Forrest (Madalynn) Graves; and grandchildren, James, Alex, and Mary Graves.
