Ronald Norman Whiteley

Ronald Norman Whiteley, age 71, of Gering, Nebraska, passed away at Heritage Estates, in Gering, on Sunday, July 6, 2025. Cremation has taken place in accordance with his wishes. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Heritage Estates, with Pastor Cliff Transmeier officiating. Memorials may be made in care of the family and will be designated at a later date. The service will be live-streamed and recorded on Ron’s obituary page viewable at www.reverencefuneralparlor.com.

Ron was born on July 13, 1953, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Norman “Norm” and Doris (Lang) Whiteley. He graduated from Missouri Valley High School in 1971.

He married the love of his life, Carol Beck, in 1973. The couple built a life filled with love, devotion, and family. Ron worked for 27 years with the Chicago Northwestern Railroad, where he made lifelong friends and earned the respect of all who knew him.

Ron was a man of great integrity and was deeply dedicated to his family. He was a loving husband to Carol, a proud father to his son Curtis “Curt” and daughter Jennifer “Jenni”, and a devoted grandfather to his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy. Ron would proudly pull out his wallet filled with pictures of his grandkids any time someone asked about his family. They were his everything, and he cherished every moment with them. His warmth, generosity, and humor made him a beloved figure to all who knew him. He was a constant source of support to his family and friends.

Survivors include his loving wife, Carol; children, Curt (Mindy) Whiteley and Jenni Jackson; grandchildren, Connor and Carter Whiteley, and Alexia and Kiarah Jackson; and siblings, Rick Whiteley, Karen Wilson, and Randy Whiteley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Doris Whiteley; in-laws, Lyle and Wardena Beck; and son-in-law, Darryl Jackson.
