Sandra "Sandi" Heine (Bowman), age 77, of Gering, Nebraska, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loving family on July 8, 2026, at Heritage Estates in Gering. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, with Bishop Hayden Mills officiating. Inurnment will follow at West Lawn Cemetery in Gering. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Festival of Hope. The service will be live-streamed and recorded on Sandi’s obituary page, viewable at www.reverencefuneralparlor.com.
Sandi was born on March 13, 1949, in Greeley, Colorado, to Helen Lucille (Carson) and Loren Wilbur Bowman. She graduated from Torrington High School in 1967. Sandi loved her work at Bailey Town and Country and excelled in various customer service roles, where her warm personality shone brightly.
She was married to Loyd R. Heine from 1966 to 1986, and to this union three beautiful children were born; Dana, Katherine, and Sean.
Sandi adored anything to do with her family. She had an incredible, uncanny ability to remember everyone's birthday, anniversary, or special occasion without fail. Sandi was a passionate sports enthusiast, especially when it came to watching her children and grandchildren participate in their activities. She was also a dedicated fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Wyoming Cowboys, Colorado Rockies, and Denver Broncos. Sandi will be forever remembered for her beautiful smile, generous heart, and several legendary family recipes that, despite everyone’s best attempts to replicate, will be deeply and profoundly missed.
Survivors include her children, Dana Heine, Katherine (TJ) Batt, and Sean (Megan) Heine; grandchildren, Dakota Koros, Richard and Micheal Gaede, Alexas Rohrick, Carson, Adison, and Lizabeth Batt; great-grandchildren, Colson and Hadley Gaede, and Reina Koros; siblings, Dona Hytrek, Stevia (Howard) Sleight, Dean (CharyI) Bowman, and Tracy (Jim) Mattert; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Loren Bowman; sister, Judy Garcia; brother-in-law, Sonny Hytrek; and niece, Sherri Rhoads.
The family expresses a special thank you to the staff at Crestview Nursing Home in Chadron, Nebraska, and the staff at Heritage Estates for the amazing care and love provided to their mother over the years.
