Sean Douglas Neu

Sean Douglas Neu, 32, of Littleton, Colorado and formerly of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 12, 2023. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, October 20, 2023, at Reverence Funeral Parlor, 2002 Char Avenue, Scottsbluff with Dan Witko officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Cemetery in Gering, Nebraska. Memorials may be made in care of the family and will be designated at a later date. Sean was born August 17, 1991, in Scottsbluff, to Kory and Teresa (Hessler) Neu. He attended school at Westmoor Elementary until his family moved to Colorado in 2000. He began attending school at Saddle Ranch Elementary, Falcon Bluffs Middle School and graduated from Columbine High School in 2010. He accepted a football scholarship at The University of South Dakota and finished his education at Metropolitan State University. He then pursued a career in construction by starting Excel Construction with his father.

Sean was a diehard Husker fan, and he loved the lake and jet skiing. He started riding motorcycles at the age of three and competed in many motocross races with his uncle, Matt. Sean was a very talented and competitive athlete in every sport he played. He was on the Columbine State Championship Football team in 2006. He was an amazing teammate and leader on and off the field and respected by all.

He loved his daughters and family with all his heart. He and his sister were thick as thieves, and he protected her in every way.

Sean was a beloved son, brother, father, and grandson who will continue to be loved by many. He touched numerous hearts with his kindness and loyalty to family and friends.  His humor and laughter put a smile on the faces of everyone. From his pranks, antics, and wobbly cowboy dance moves.

He was taken way too soon but will never be forgotten. He will be in the hearts of everyone that crossed his path or who crossed his. His family and friends now have an angel to watch over them.

Survivors include his parents, Kory and Teresa Neu; daughters, Layton Neu and Oakley Neu; sister, Ashley Neu; grandparents, Steve and Beth Hessler and Gary and Sue Neu; mother of Oakley, Chelsea Reiffenberger; mother of Layton, Jaelyn Manzanares; uncle, Matt (Ashley) Hessler; aunt, Kerry Meyer; along with multiple loving cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by great grandpas and great grandmas Neu, Inness, Hessler, and Schadegg; aunt, Linda Weitzel; uncles, John Meyer and Kyle Neu; and cousin, Chad Weitzel.
