Valerie came into this world with a bang, born on July 4, 1952, in Kimball, Nebraska—a fitting birthday for someone who brought light and warmth to those around her. She was the first of five children born to Lance and Ann (Gonzales) Hernandez.

As the eldest child, Valerie quickly became her mother’s trusted helper, caring for her younger siblings with love and responsibility. She attended Kimball Public Schools and graduated with pride as a member of Kimball County High School’s Class of 1970.

Valerie had a strong work ethic and a kind spirit that touched everyone she met. She worked at George Risk Industries in Kimball before relocating to Scottsbluff, where she held positions at Midwec and Regional West Medical Center. At each of these workplaces, she was known for her dedication, reliability, and genuine kindness.

In 1974, Valerie married Francisco Javier Robles. Together, they raised three beloved children.

Valerie is survived by her husband, Francisco Javier Robles; her daughter, Anna-Lisa Robles; and her two sons, Dustin Robles (Kayla) and Daniel Robles. She was a proud grandmother to Francisco Robles, Marisa Rasnic (Jaron), Diego Magdaleno, Illiana Magdaleno, Ty Robles, and Kara Robles; and a cherished great-grandmother to Merci Jay Rasnic. She is also survived by her siblings, Bianca Howard, Lance Hernandez, Nancy Prunty (Keith), and Aaron Hernandez (Ann Marie); along with numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

Valerie will be remembered for her warm heart, her deep and unwavering love for her family, and the quiet strength she carried throughout her life.
