Warren Raber Tellgren, age 89, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones at home. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Fort Logan National Cemetery Staging Area C in Denver, Colorado, with Chaplain Robert Derrera officiating. A reception will follow at the VFW Post 9644 (2680 W Hampden Ave, Sheridan, CO 80110). Memorials may be designated to the VFW Post 9644. Warren was born on December 17, 1936, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Russell and Melba (Riley) Tellgren. He attended college at Regis University in Colorado Springs, Community College of the Air Force at the Randolph Air Force Base, and El Paso Community College in Colorado Springs.
He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps from 1954 to 1956. Warren then joined the United States Air Force and served until his retirement from the armed forces in 1982 as a Chief Master Sargeant with numerous awards and decorations. After his time in the service, he was part of the Martin Marietta aerospace team and assisted with updating the Minuteman missile sites. Warren was later employed as a safety engineer for the Denver International Airport while it was being built.
Warren was exceptionally active in any and all efforts to support veterans and individuals in need. He held all VFW office positions from post level to district level and was State Commander in 1998. Warren was a proud long-term member of the Military Order of the Cootie, president of the United Veterans Council of Colorado and the Fort Logan Memorial Day Committee, and a chairmen and member of the National VFW Legislative Committee. He was also an active and dedicated member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Donna (Dickey) Tellgren; children, James (Michelle) and Warren (Maria) Tellgren, Patresse Butler, Toni Tellgren, Gary Neterval, MinaLee Reichert, and Steven Tellgren; grandchildren, Matthew Reichert, Heather (Matt) West, Jesse (Nichole) Reichert, Jeffrey (Jordan) Neterval, Timathy Reichert, Jessica, Joshua (Brandi), Amanda, Robert, and Catrina Tellgren, Daniel Steven, and Michael Roselle; 23 great grandchildren; and numerous extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his son, Warren Tellgren; and great granddaughter Brooke West.
