Ann Avila

May 20, 1956 — November 9, 2021

Ann B. Loutzenhiser Avila, 65, of Scottsbluff, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on November 9, 2021 at Regional West Medical Center.  A service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Reverence Funeral Parlor in Scottsbluff with Pastor Bob Haverick officiating.  Cremation will follow.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.  Please wear purple in her honor and come share memories.  Memorials may be made in care of the family and will be designated later.

Ann was born May 20, 1956 to Alton and Marjorie (Shuck) Loutzenhiser in Scottsbluff. She was the sixth child of eight siblings. She grew up in Minatare where she lived until she graduated in 1976.

She met Roberto Avila in 1975.  They dated and then lived together.  The couple decided to make it official on August 22, 1986 when they were married and to this union they had Bridget and Roberto.

Ann worked odd jobs at Henry’s Market and the Chef Cafe while in high school.  She later went to work at Granada Feedlot as a mill operator until 1986 and then Dinklage until 1993.

She had many friends near and far and everyone knew what they meant to her. Annie was loved by each person she knew. She always made you laugh and was always there for her family and friends. No matter what you could always count on her. She was the life of the party, never going unnoticed as she could be heard from a mile away. She was never afraid to tell you how she felt about anything and was always honest, sometimes maybe too blunt.

Her best times in life were spent with her grandchildren. They were the light of her life. She loved watching movies, playing games, and doing puzzles with them. She had a special place in her heart for her three dogs: Boo, Zeus and Mamacita. Ann also had a llama, yes, you read that right, she had a llama named Charlie, who she absolutely loved.  She had a nurturing spirit for life.  Everything remained alive as she was there to care for them from plants, animals and even people.

Annie will be missed by all who knew her. It was too soon for her to go, but God had other plans.

Survivors include her husband, Roberto Avila of Scottsbluff; daughter, Bridget (Carlos) Rojas of Scottsbluff; son, Robbie F. Avila of Scottsbluff; grandchildren, Trent Rojas, Zander and Zier Avila; step grandchildren, Alec Rojas and Shauhara Chapman; brothers, Ron (Diane) Loutzenhiser of Hemingford, Michael (Cheryl) Loutzenhiser of Scottsbluff  and Jan Loutzenhiser of Omaha; sisters, Mary (Rod) Aschenbrenner of Scottsbluff, Linda Bortz of Rapid City, Janet Pack of Minatare; countless nephews and nieces; and foster children, Stephanie and David Heights.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Melody Stabb; father-in-law, Francisco Avila; and mother-in-law, Mariana Avila.
