Robert was born May 18, 1951, in Elsa, Texas to Carlos and Ignacia (Mancillas) Rojas. His family moved to Lyman, Nebraska and then settled in Scottsbluff. Robert attended Scottsbluff public schools where he participated in track.
He was united in marriage to Rita DeOllos and together they had four children: Samantha, Carlos, Felicia, and Libra.
He later met Rachel Ruff in 1993 and they were married in 2005. Together they made their home in Gering.
Robert worked at Western Valley Packing Plant for many years until it closed. His other jobs included working at Packerland as well as being a farm/ranch laborer, and a semi driver. He retired in March of 2010 due to ill health.
Robert accepted Christ into his heart. He enjoyed reading the Bible every morning and hearing the word of God.
Robert loved being outdoors camping, fishing, having barbeques, and gardening. He liked all genres of music from Elvis, Vicente, country, oldies and over the years, Christian music. He always took the time to lend a helping hand when needed. He enjoyed spending time with his family and attending church gatherings. It was important to Robert that others knew that God is a forgiving God, a healer, and that prayer was important. Robert was proof of that.
