Terry Beck

Terry L. Beck, 71, of Mitchell, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff.  A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 27, 2021 at Mitchell City Cemetery with Pastor Andy Griess officiating.  Cremation has taken place.  Memorials may be made in care of the Zion Evangelical Church AWANA Club.

Terry was born August 27, 1949 in Mitchell to Leo M. and Theona Ilene (Johnson) Beck.  He graduated Mitchell High School in 1968. He furthered his education at Western Nebraska Community College and Chadron State.

Terry worked at L&M Motor Supply which he later purchased with his uncle, Willard Lashmett.  He bought Willard’s share of the company after Willard retired.  Terry later sold the store and remained as the manager for several years.  He additionally worked at The Warehouse with his dad, Leo, and then Valley Motor Supply, Performance Automotive and Advanced Automotive.

He became an amazing caregiver to his mother following his retirement.  He also enjoyed his Corvettes and scuba diving in Hawaii.  He loved visiting his cousins, Gary and Shirley Beck in Hawaii and had been looking forward to going again.  Terry always had fun traveling to Wendover as well.

Survivors include his sisters, Leona (Vern) Groskopf and Peggy (Bob) Hessler; nephew and nieces, Andy (Jessica) Groskopf, Megan (Jim) Pieper, Halee (Greg) Brown and Danielle Hessler; grandnieces and grandnephews, Joslyn and Daxon Darnell, Derrick Brown, Madison and Allyson Pieper; aunt, Joella Johnson; and several cousins.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Theona; and grandparents, Lester and Hattie Beck and William and Alta Johnson.
